Diagnosis: Paralitonotidae with right somatic kineties progressively shortened from middle towards dorsal full kinety and perioral kinety; leftmost kinety extending to anterior end of cell.

Type species: Paralitonotus foissneri sp. nov.

Etymology: Composite of the Greek prefix Παρά- (derive from) and the generic name Litonotus Wresniowski, 1870, referring to the Litonotus -like general ciliary pattern. Masculine gender.
