Remarks. Haupt (1933) described Psammochares subocellatus and synonymized his P. effodiens f. quadrimaculata Haupt 1929 under this name. According to article 45.6.4 of Code (ICZN 1999) quadrimaculata is a valid name and the action by Haupt contradicts the principle of priority (article 23.1 of Code (ICZN 1999)). The earlier name is resurrected and raised to specific status and moved to the Arachnospila and Psammochares subocellatus Haupt 1933, as a youngest name, became a new synonym of Arachnospila quadrimaculata (Haupt 1929) . We are not sure that Arachnospila quadrimaculata (Haupt) and A. sogdianoides (Wolf) are the same species (see: Wahis 2010, in this case quadrimaculata has priority vs. sogdianoides) and propose to save quadrimaculata as separate species until the male will be discovered and examined.
