Distribution. A cosmopolitan species (Blakemore 2002, 2007).

Remarks. Polypheretima elongata is an exotic species originating from the Indonesian region (Easton 1976), and commonly found in the Indochinese region (Thai 1983). A new illustration of Po. elongata is provided in this study (Fig. 4) because there are no available figures of this species from Vietnamese samples.
