Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) ilicis Athias-Henriot, 1960 b

Typhlodromus ilicis Athias-Henriot, 1960b: 95 .

Amblydromella ilicis .—Moraes et al. 1986: 164.

Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) ilicis . — Moraes et al., 2004: 330.

This species is mainly reported from the Mediterranean basin on oaks. It was already known from Morocco, where it was found by McMurtry & Bonfour (1989) on Quercus sp. and by Tixier et al. (2003) on Quercus ilex . Among the 21 specimens collected in the present survey 15 were found on Quercus ilex and Q. coccifera . This suggests a quite narrow relationship between this species and plants of the genus Quercus . Nothing is known of its biology.

Specimens examined: 2002, Aïoun Asserdoun Spring on Quercus ilex (Fagaceae) (3 females), Azrou, Gouraud Cedar on Quercus ilex (Fagaceae) (3 females), Road of Beni Mellal, 70 Kms of Kenifra on Centaurea sp. ( Asteraceae) (1 female); 2003, Babbou Idir on Quercus ilex (Fagaceae) (1 female), Mazari Cape on Quercus coccifera (Fagaceae) (2 females), Spartel Cape on Geranium molle (Geraniaceae) (1 female), Gorges of Zegzel on Quercus ilex (Fagaceae) (6 females).
