Current name: Digitalis thapsi L. ( Scrophulariaceae).

Note: Wijnands & Belder (in Misc. Pap. Landbouwhoogeschool 19: 429. 1980) state that the Boccone plate (1697: 108, t. 85), cited in synonymy, is not identifiable as D. thapsi . Hinz (in Candollea 42: 187. 1987) argued that both it and the cited Barrelier plate conflict with the diagnosis and designated a neotype. However, cited plates form part of the protologue and cannot therefore be rejected as being in conflict with it.
