Lectotype (Stearn, Introd. Linnaeus’ Sp. Pl. (Ray Soc. ed.): 47. 1957): [icon] " Dolichos minimus, floribus luteis" in Linnaeus, Hort. Cliff.: 360, t. 21. 1738.

Current name: Rhynchosia minima (L.) DC. ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).

Note: Verdcourt (in Milne-Redhead & Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Leguminosae 4: 756. 1971), followed by many authors, treated material in Sloane’s herbarium as lectotype. However, these specimens were never studied by Linnaeus and are not original material for the name. Stearn had in any case previously designated a Hortus Cliffortianus illustration as type.
