Generitype of Daucus Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 139. 1929).

Current name: Daucus carota L. ( Apiaceae).

They illustrate the type as their f. 2. Heath (in Taxon 40: 94. 1991) argued that this type choice was invalid but this was refuted by Jarvis (in Taxon 41: 63-64. 1992).
