Genus Phymatura Sahlberg, 1876

[Japanese name: Kinokotsuyakeshi-hanekakushi-zoku]

Phymatura Sahlberg, 1876: 85 (original description;

type species: Bolitochara brevicollis Kraatz, 1856, fixed by subsequent designation by Casey, 1906: 264).

Venusa Casey, 1906: 272 (original description;

type species: Venusa picta Casey, 1906, fixed by subsequent designation by Fenyes, 1918: 26); Ashe, 1992: 371 (as a synonym of Phymatura).

Remarks. The genus Phymatura can be distinguished from the genus Pseudatheta by the following character states: mesoventrite with a longitudinal carina; flabellum of hind wing with at least three setose lobes.
