Paraclius sagittatus, sp. nov.

Diagnosis. First flagellomere pointed at apex; stylus articles about equal in length. A single tiny seta dorsally on proepisternum. Phallus without ornamentation; hypandrium with two lateral projections at apex, arrow-like in dorsal view.
Material examined. Holotype 3: BRAZIL, Espírito Santo, Linhares, Reserva Biológica de Sooterama, 18º58'02.7'' S 40º08'06.8'' W, track 5, Malaise trap, 24–27.iii.2002, C.O. Azevedo e eq. col.
Description. Very similar to P. amphiatheratus except by the features listed in the diagnosis and the following details. Male. Body length, 2.3. Wing 2.1 long, 0.8 wide. Leg measures: I: 0.6, 0.6, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1. II: 0.8, 0.9, 0.4, 0.3, 0.2, 0.1, 0.1. III: 1.0, 1.1, 0.3, 0.4, 0.2, 0.2, 0.1. Hypopygium as in Figs. 5 and 6. Sperm pump slightly enlarged, with an almost spherical shape, and greatly folded back over itself.
Etymology. From Greek “sagitta” (arrow), referring to the shape of hypandrium.
Comments. This species superficially resembles P. amphiatheratus, sp. nov. by the pointed male first flagellomere, but differs by the shape both of the phallus and hypandrium, as noted above.
