Gagnepain (1913) cited two collections (L. Pierre 31, 138) from Vietnam in the protologue of M. diptera, and Lôc & Vidal (2001) designated Pierre 31 (P) as its [first-step] lectotype. There are four specimens of Pierre 31 in P and one of them (P 02141790) is designated here as the second-step lectotype of the name (see Art. 9.17 Ex. 14 and Art. 40 Ex. 3, Turland et al. 2018). This lectotype bears a beautiful drawing of a dissected flower. In addition, the specimen (E00275467) was labelled with “ lectotype of Millettia diptera Gagnep. selected by Phan Kȇ Lôc”, but it together with nine other specimens of this gathering should be considered as isolectotypes (see Art. 7.11 Ex. 12).
