Persian Gulf. Nilsson-Cantell (1938) as Pyrgoma projectum (Nilsson-Cantell, 1938) from east of Al-Zawr Island in Kuwait.

Gulf of Oman. No record.

General distribution and habitat. To date, only known from the Persian Gulf; embedded in scleractinian corals (Ross & Newman 1973; Newman & Ross 1976).
