The Paradelia intersecta subsection

This subsection includes all species of the Paradelia intersecta section not included in the P. lundbeckii subsection. Evidence for its monophyly is the presence of a distinct constriction latero-distally on male surstyli. Griffiths (1987) gave as further evidence the presence of ‘setulose basal angles’ (e.g., Figs. 39, 40, arrow) on the posterior lobes of sternite V, but I regard homologous formations to be present in the P. lundbeckii subsection (e.g., Figs. 24, 25) and in P. lunatifrons (Figs. 17, 18, long arrow).
