Microcentrus perditus (Amyot & Serville, 1843a: 577):
Goding 1928a: 397 synonymzed Microcentrus perditus (Amyot & Serville) with Centruchoides laticornis Fowler, listing it under a new name combination of Centruchoides perdita (Amyot & Serville), using Fowler’s collection sites of Bugaba and Volcán de Chiriquí for C. laticornis (Fowler 1896e: 162). McKamey lists Centruchoides laticornis Fowler as a valid species found in Panama (McKamey 1998: 300) and perpetuates Goding’s citation of Microcentrus perditus (Amyot and Serville) being found in Panama (McKamey 1998: 301). Cryan et al. (2003: 14) lists Centruchoides laticornis Fowler as being found in Panama and Honduras and Microcentrus perditus (Amyot & Serville) as only being found outside of the United States in Mexico and Canada (Cryan et al. 2003: 35), therefore Goding’s record of M. perditus ’s presence in Panama was an error.
