Vestistiloides uncicornis (Fowler, 1895d: 104)

Chiriqui: 1 km S Cerro Punta, Volcán de Chiriquí (Fowler 1895d: 104 as Ceresa uncicornis Fowler). Goding 1929e: 261 synony mized both Ceresa unicornis [sic] Fowler and Ceresa variabilis Fowler with Ceresa brunnicornis (Germar) with their Panamá location records. Andrade (2003) created the genus Vestistiloides: including both Ceresa uncicornis Fowler (Type locality: Volcán de Chiriquí, Panamá) and Ceresa variabilis Fowler (Type locality: Volcán de Chiriquí, Panamá). Andrade (2004), validated Ceresa brunnicornis Fowler asa separate species from Vesistiloides uncicornis (Fowler), listing its geographical distribution as Brazil and Argentina, meaning V. uncicornis is a valid species (1♂; DJFC).
