Type locality: Indonesia: Sulawesi: Minahassa Peninsula.

Notes. The species is here included in Scelimena producta species group, based on similarity with the type species of the group— Scelimena producta . The main differences from S. producta are smoother pronotum, lack of metalateral projections, lack of teeth on the ventral margins of the hind femora and slightly narrower vertex.
