4. salicis -group

Diagnosis. Cercal plate in distal half (or third) produced into a single long narrow process, the apex of which generally reaches the level of apices of surstyli; often bearing a single pair of long setae medially (e.g., B. angustisilva) or numerous long lateral setae ( B. anthracimetopa, B. silva). Surstylus with a median tooth on inner margin ( B. salicis, B. silva, etc.) or simple ( B. cuneata, B. melametopa). Processes of sternite 5 nearly always with long dense spines on inner margins (except in B. cuneata, B. deegensis, and others).
