Notes.
Subspecies pratensis is often confused with subspecies angustifolia, which has denser fascicles of shoots of intravaginal origin and firmer vegetative leaf blades that are involute, with veins distinctly expressed abaxially, in those fascicles. 2 n = 42, 43, 44, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 58, 59, 62, 65, 66, 67, 88, 89, 91, 95 (counts may represent other subspecies, particularly subsp. irrigata).
