Darnilia van Achterberg, 1989: 88 . Type species (by original description): Darnilia flagellaris van Achterberg, 1989 .

Diagnosis. Antenna with 45–59 (females) or 38–45 antennomeres (males); apical antennomere acuminate (Fig. 7; Fig. 43 in van Achterberg, 1989); eyes glabrous and distinctly emarginate; maxillary palp 6 segmented; labial palp 4-segmented; occipital carina nearly complete or interrupted medio-dorsally (Figs 1, 13, 24), in lateral view usually fused with hypostomal carina (Figs 3, 15, 26); vertex often aciculate medially; malar suture present (Figs 2, 14, 25). Pronotum not protruding antero-laterally, without pronope; prepectal carina complete; precoxal sulcus present, largely smooth (Figs 5, 18); notauli narrow and complete (Figs 4, 16, 27); propodeum with median carina basally, surface of propodeum finely granulate basally or with carinae on posterior area (Figs 8, 20, 31); propodeal tubercles and areola absent. Vein 1-SR of fore wing short (Figs 9, 32); vein m-cu antefurcal, vein 1-M curved posteriorly; second submarginal cell long (Figs 9, 32); vein CU1b shorter than vein 3-CU1 (Figs 9, 32); hind wing with vein 1-M nearly twice as long as vein M+CU (Figs 22, 30); vein 1r-m oblique and slightly curved; vein m-cu absent (Figs 22, 30). Tarsal claws with conspicuous setose lobe (Figs 6, 17, 29); inner side of hind tibia with distinct apical comb (Fig. 19). First metasomal tergite without dorsope and laterope and movably joined to second tergite (Figs 21, 28); second tergite without smooth medio-basal triangular area (Figs 21, 28); length of second tergite 1.8-2.1 × third tergite medially; second-sixth tergites with sharp lateral crease; length of ovipositor sheath 0.10–0.15 × fore wing; hypopygium of female rather large and truncate apically.
