Lecithocera xanthochalca Meyrick, 1914: 199; Ghesquière 1940: 58; Clarke 1965: 172; Park et al. 2021: 360. Type locality: Malawi, Nyasaland, Mt. Mlanje; Type depository: holotype female in NHMUK.

Distribution. Malawi (Meyrick 1914), DR Congo (Ghesquière 1940).

Remarks. The female genitalia of the holotype were illustrated by Clarke (1965; slide no. Clarke-9169). Ghesquière (1940) reported it from DR Congo, but no specimen has been found in the present study. Its generic status still remains doubtable.
