Material examined. 11 specimens NHM UK 2013.1055-1065, Stn 49: Atlantic, Northwest (South of Halifax, Nova Scotia); 155 m .

Distribution. North Atlantic. Known depth range 2 to 1600 m.
Habitat. On sponges, octocorals, gorgonian corals Paragorgia arborea (Linnaeus, 1758), Primnoa resedaeformis (Gunnerus, 1763) and hydroids.
Remarks. Hoek (1883) also examined two specimens of O. stroemii obtained from Murray and collected at HMS “Triton” Stn 10 (Atlantic, Northeast; 943 m). This material is not in the NHM collection.
