Comments. The above specimen of Metaphycus Mercet belongs to the alberti species-group, characterized by having both the maxillary and the labial palps 2-segmented. It does not run to any species in the available keys (Annecke & Mynhardt 1981; Trjapitzin 1989; Guerrieri & Noyes 2000; Noyes 2004; Hayat 2006). This species will be taken up when more specimens become available.
