Diagnosis. See Townes (1970). In Eastern Palearctic genera of Atrophini, this genus can be separated from similar genera with a short ovipositor by the hind wing with nervellus intercepted near or anterior to the middle (Figs 1 A–C).

Distribution. Holarctic, Oriental and Neotropical regions (Yu et al. 2016).

Remarks. The tarsal claws of all Japanese species show the sexual dimorphism, i.e., nearly entirely pectinate in females and almost simple, with a few basal pectens in males.
