Platygaster ambositrensis Risbec, 1955b: 113, figs 2a–b.

Current status. Platygaster ambositrensis

Syntypes 3 3 = ‘3 ♀♀, Madagascar, Ambositra (MNHN).

Labels. Elev. du 2.1.52. No. G.318. Eclos. 21.1.52 / Inst. Scient. Madagascar / Parasites de galle par diversement d’/ epissure de tige de Philippia sp./ Ambositra. (R. P.); Platygaster / ambositrae/ Risbec [syntypes 3 3].

Remarks. The three syntypes are dry-mounted together on one microscope slide, ringed partly with clear, soft resin and partly with paraffin wax. One has the head disarticulated but present, with the apex of one antenna missing; the other syntypes are entire. Although Risbec lists the syntypes as females, it is clear from his description that they are actually males. One specimen with the head broken off shows the view of the pronotal nucha, normally concealed by the head, just as it is shown in Risbec’s figure 2a.
