Sacespalus rugosiceps Kieffer, 1917: 62 .
Current status. Sacespalus rugosiceps
Syntype 3, Philippines, Luzon, Mount Makiling (MNHN).
Labels. Mt. Makiling/ Luzon, Baker; Holotypus; Muséum Paris/ -1957/ Coll. Kieffer; Sacespalus / ruficeps [syntype 3].
Remarks. The syntype is glued onto a card point, and is badly damaged and covered in glue. The head is broken from the rest of the body, but is still present and the right antenna is broken from the head and is in two separate pieces. The left fore wing is broken basally. It is worth noting a number of errors in Kelner-Pillault’s (1958) type catalogue for this species: 1) there is no evidence that this specimen is a holotype; 2) although it was listed as a scelionid it is clearly a platygastrid; 3) although it was listed as a female the number of gastral segments shows it is a male; 4) Sacespilus is an incorrect subsequent spelling of the generic name.
