Remarks. Zeugomutilla saepes (Chen, 1957) has been suspected to be the female of Z. pycnopyga, but there has not been sufficient evidence to associate them. Since Hong Kong (SAR) is likely to support only one species of Zeugomutilla, discovery of that species here could provide the data needed to formalize that association, or discovery of a Zeugomutilla female that is not conspecific with Z. saepes would support the caution shown by previous authors.
