Key to species of Aulacephala

The key below was prepared based upon characters previously reported by Bequaert (1922), Uéda (1960), Mesnil (1973), as well as my present observations.

1. Crossvein dm-cu strongly bisinuate (Fig. 12); final section of M vein (distal to bend) strongly arcuate inwards (Fig. 12); base of wing, r-m, dm-cu and final section of M dark brownish coloured and conspicuously infuscated around (Fig. 12) (widespread in continental Afrotropics)......................................................... - Crossvein dm-cu weakly bisinuate (Fig. 11); final section of M vein (distal to bend) is straight or only slightly arcuate inwards (Fig. 11); base of wing, r-m, dm-cu and final section of M light brownish to brownish coloured (at most r-m dark brownish), and r-m with conspicuous infuscation around, while dm-cu, final section of M, and wing base with some weak infuscation (Fig. 11) (Japan, China, Indonesia)..........................................................
