Bachia trisanale (Cope, 1868)

Distribution and habitat. Bachia trisanale is endemic of western Amazonia, with its eastern distribution restricted to the upper Solimões, Juruá, and Purus river systems, occurring in Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador (Fig. 3). We examined only specimens from Peru and Ecuador; record from Brazil (state of Acre) was obtained from Teixeira et al. (2013b). As usual for Bachia, information about its ecology and habitat is scarce. Duellman (1978) found three specimens in a secondary forest; one was dug out of sandy soil; one was found in a trench; other under a rotting log in a clearing.
