Cercosaura sp. 3
Taxonomic remarks. Identified as Prionodactylus oshaughnessyi by Ávila-Pires (1995), Cercosaura sp. 3 is being described by T. Ávila-Pires.
Distribution and habitat. Cercosaura sp. 3 is endemic to northern Amazonia (eastern portion of the Guiana region), with its western distribution delimited by the Maroni and Jari rivers, occurring in Brazil and French Guiana (Fig. 9). In Brazil, it is only known from the state of Amapá. Cercosaura sp. 3 is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits dense terra firme and flooded forests, where it is usually found among leaf litter, occasionally among grasses or on logs (Gasc 1981; Hoogmoed & Ávila-Pires 1989—both referred to as Prionodactylus argulus; Lima 2008—referred to as Prionodactylus sp.).
