Boehlkea fredcochui (Fig. 4 A-K)

In the spermatozoon of Boehlkea fredcochui the ovoid nucleus measures 2.0 µ m in the longitudinal axis and 1.5 µ m in the transverse axis. The surrounding strip of cytoplasm has large and small vesicles (Fig. 4 A-C). Nuclear rotation toward the flagellar axis is about 60 degrees (Fig. 4 A-B). The midpiece has a conical shape and a length of about 1.6 µ m, and contains some elongate mitochondria (Fig. 4 A-G). The endomembrane system is composed of larger vesicles connected to a clump of smaller vesicles with a lacy aspect (Fig. 4 H-K).
