melindae Haitlinger, 2008 [LV]

Valgothrombium melindae Haitlinger, 2008: 391 .

Distribution. Moldova, Ukraine.

Remarks. Scutum and scutellum of V. melindae are shown in Figure 11. In the original description Haitlinger (2008) provided the following characteristics of leg chaetotaxy (trochanter - tarsus): leg I − Tr (1n) - Fe (5n, 1θ) - Ge (4n, 1σ) - Ti (6n, 2φ) - Ta (14n, 2ζ, 1ω); leg II − Tr (1n) - Fe (4n, 1θ) - Ge (2n, 1σ) - Ti (4n, 2φ) - Ta (10n, 1ω); leg III − Tr (1n) - Fe (3n) - Ge (2n, 1σ) - Ti (5n) - Ta (10n). Our examination of the holotype allowed us to verify some data concerning the chaetotaxy, which should be interpreted as follows (data which could not be confirmed due to the condition of the specimen, are queried): leg I − Tr (1n) - Fe ([?]5n) - Ge (4n, 2σ, [?]1κ) - Ti (6n, 2φ) - Ta ([?]14n, 2ζ, 1ω, 1ε); leg II − Tr (1n) - Fe ([?]5n) - Ge (2n, 1σ) - Ti (5n, 2φ) - Ta ([?]10n, 1ζ, 1ω, 1ε); leg III − Tr (1n) - Fe (4n) - Ge (2n, 1σ) - Ti (5n) - Ta ([?]10n). Coxa I bears two bifurcate setae. Two setae placed in most proximal position on femur III are smooth. Famulus (ε) on tarsus I is located in more distal position in relation to solenidion (ω).
