Remarks.

The morphological differences between many of the species of Euplectrus are small, a fact that previous species descriptors have not realized. Therefore descriptions such as the one by Say, of Euplectrus hircinus, fit to any number, or none, of the species. Without type material, Euplectrus hircinus is impossible to identify.
