Lycomorphon opacum (Pic, 1926)

Holotype, male, PERU: ‘Carmen’ (MNHN).
Diagnosis. Elytra black with yellow transverse stripe in apical third. Each elytron with 4 costae, costa 3 present only in median third. Sutural costae considerably convergent in apical third. Abdominal sternum 9 triangular proximally. Paramerae half as long as phallus.
Redescription. Interocular distance 1.5 times longer than eye diameter. Antennomere 3 as long as 4 (Fig. 11). Mandibles strongly reduced, maxillary palpi short, all palpomeres of same length. Pronotum trapezoidal, black, with simple carina in anterior half and slender longitudinal groove in posterior half (Fig. 2). Anterior thoracic spiracles short, tubular. Elytra black with yellow transverse stripe in apical third, sutural costae considerably convergent in apical third (Fig. 9). Each elytron with 3 strong costae, costa 3 considerably weakened, absent in basal and apical thirds, reticulate cells largely rectangular, irregular. Abdominal sternum 8 provided with rounded emargination distally, sternum 9 elongate, triangular proximally and rounded distally (Fig. 8). Male genitalia with distal portion of phallus slightly curved dorsally, teary orifice in terminal half of phallus. Paramerae reaching phallus midlength, rounded apically in lateral and ventral views (Figs. 26–28). Body length: 7.5 mm, humeral width: 1.5 mm.
