Lycomorphon bimaculatum sp. n.

Holotype, male, COLOMBIA: ‘Aguatal’ (MNHN). Paratypes: 2 males, COLOMBIA: ‘Aguatal’; COLOMBIA: ‘S Antonio’ (MNHN).

Diagnosis. Each elytron with 4 longitudinal costae, costa 3 present medially. Phallus almost straight, paramerae slightly longer than half of phallus. Elytral coloration very similar to L. nitidum .

Description. Interocular distance 1.7 times longer than eye diameter. Antennae almost filiform, antennomere 3 slightly shorter than 4, antennomere 5 as long as 4 (Fig. 14). Mandibles reduced, almost hooked, maxillary palpi elongate, pointed, tips slightly truncate. Pronotum trapezoidal, dark brown, with simple carina in anterior half and longitudinal groove in posterior half.. Elytra elongate, convergent in apical third, dark brown with yellow macula in posterior ¾, separated from sutural costae, like in L. nitidum . Each elytron with 3 strong longitudinal costae, costa 3 weakened, present only in median third, costa 1 missing apically, reticulate cells irregular, at most rectangular. Abdominal sternum 8 with irregular emargination distally (Fig. 4). Sternum 9 elongate, rounded proximally, triangular distally. Phallus almost straight, slightly curved dorsally, teary orifice in distal half of phallus. Paramerae slightly longer than half of phallus (Figs. 35–37). Body length: 6.3–6.7 mm, humeral width: 1.4–1.5 mm.

Etymology: the name refers to the two elytral maculae.

Distribution: Colombia.
