Hydrochus richteri Bruch, 1915: 463; Oliva (1992) lectotype designation

Hydrochus soesilaae Makhan, 1994; syn. Oliva (1996)

Originally described from Argentina. This species is also recorded from Paraguay (Oliva 1996); however, this needs confirmation as there is a synonymy dispute between Oliva (1996) and Makhan (1998). Two records from Peru are given below.

Material examined (32): PERU: Loreto, 15km from Ucayali on R. Calleria, Colonia Calleria, 10–20.xi.1961, leg. B. Malkin (1 NMNH); Pucallpa, Lago Yarina Cocha, 11.iv.1969, leg. P. & P. Spangler (31 NMNH) .
