Type locality. Suriname, [Sipaliwini], Aroewarwa Creek, Maroewym Valley and [Brazil], Amazonas, Fonte Boa .

Type specimens. Described based on 8 ♁ and 2 ♀ (NHMUK, one of the ♁ from Suriname labeled TYPE).

Taxonomic references. Rothschild (1909; 1910), Hampson (1920), Watson & Goodger (1986) and Vincent & Laguerre (2014).
