Type locality: [Hawaii Is.] “ Oahu ” (Bonato et al. 2016) .

Remarks. Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are mentioned in the range of B. rugosus in Ma et al. (2014): “Also known from Uzbekistan, Kirghizstan, Japan, North Korea, the Philippines, New Guinea, and the Hawaiian Islands” with reference to Ma et al. (2008). However, this source does not include information on Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan: “ B. rugosus Meinert, 1872 from Japan, China, Korea, the Philippines, and introduced to Hawaii”.
