Material examined. Thailand: Phetchaburi Province, 50 km SW of Phetchaburi City, environs of main office of National park Khaeng Krachan, near reservoir, 30 July–1 August 1996, 1 female, coll. A. Gorochov (ZISP).

Distribution. India, Nepal, China, Myanmar, Indonesia (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1893; Ingrisch, 2001; Zheng, 2005; Tumbrinck, 2015). This species is recorded for the first time from Thailand.

Notes. Paratettix hirsutus Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1893 is recently synonymized under P. ob e s u s Bolívar, 1887 (Tumbrinck, 2015).
