4. Subgenus Adocimus Murray, 1864

Adocimus Murray, 1864: 310 .

Type-species: Adocimus bellus Murray, 1864: 311; by monotypy.

Diagnosis. Body moderately wide and elongate oval; elytra with more or less obliterate to obsolete striae; head sharply narrowed to base, with moderately small and finely faceted eyes located behind middle; prothoracic lateral carinae rather smoothed; pronotal anterior angles widely rounded; scutellar shield subpentangular; tibiae swollen (less dorsoventrally compressed) and with group of short and thick spines at apex; femora rather wide and thick; tarsi with moderately lobed tarsomeres 1–3.

Composition. This subgenus includes one described species, although few undescribed species of it have been collected in New Guinea and surrounding islands.
