Dolichogenidea longimagna Liu & Chen, sp. nov.

(Figs 39, 68)

Description. Holotype. Female. Body length 3.1 mm, fore wing length 3.5 mm.

Head. Transverse in dorsal view, 2.0× as wide as long, 0.8× as wide as mesoscutum (Fig. 39d). Temple shiny with shallow punctures, not constricted behind eyes from dorsal view. Face (Fig. 39h) transverse, 0.7× as high as wide, a little shiny with shallow punctures, inner margins of eyes nearly parallel-sided. Ocelli relatively large, posterior tangent to anterior ocellus virtually touching posterior pair of ocelli, distance between fore and a hind ocellus a little shorter than diameter of an hind ocellus, POL:OD:OOL = 3.5:2.2:4.2. Antenna (Fig. 39f) nearly as long as body length, penultimate antennomere 1.7× longer than wide.

Mesosoma. Length:width:height = 52.0:32.0:33.5. Disc of mesonotum (Fig. 39g) shiny with sharp, relatively small punctures. Scutellar sulcus nearly straight, relatively narrow with carinae inbetween. Scutellum highly shiny, polished except several minute hairy punctures. Propodeum (Fig. 39c) shiny, with strong, well-defined pentagonal areolation which open at at anterior end, three posterior fields shiny and nearly polished, medio-anterior parts punctate-rugose, lateral-anterior parts shiny with shallow punctures. Mesopleuron highly polished, anterior part with fine, dense punctures.

Legs. Hind coxa shiny with superficial punctures. Spines on outer side of hind tibia dense. Inner spur 2/5 length of hind basitarsus, outer spur nearly 1/3. Basitarsus of hind leg a little shorter than tarsomeres 2–4 (20.0:22.0).

Wings. Pterostigma 2.9× as long as its widest part (Fig. 39b). Vein 1-R1 1.4× longer than pterostigma, 7.4× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell. Vein r arising from apex of pterostigma, r weakly inclined outwards, 1.2× longer than width of pterostigma, 1.5× longer than 2-SR, distinctly angled with 2-SR at meeting, 2-M half length of 2-SR and as long as 1-SR and a little shorter than 2-SR+M, m-cu nearly as long as r. First discal cell of fore wing 1.1× wider than high. Second discal cell of hind wing 1.6× wider than high. Vein cu-a strongly curved.

Metasoma. 1.2× longer than mesosoma. T1 (Fig. 39i) parallel-sided, weakly constricted on apical 1/3, 1.7× longer than hind width, basal 1/4 concave, polished, turned-over part 1.5× longer than wide, punctate-rugose. T2 weakly rugulose, 2.3× wider than long in middle, curved apically. T3 1.5× longer than T2. Tergites posterior to T2 shiny, polished and pubescent. Hypopygium not longer than apex of metasoma. Ovipositor sheath 1.8× length of hind tibia, thin and parallel-sided.

Colour. Black (Fig. 39a). Tegula dark brown. Palpi and spurs whitish yellow. Antenna and ovipositor sheath dark brown. Labrum and mandible reddish brown (apices of mandibles red). Legs brown to dark brown, except most of fore leg, apex of mid femur, basal half of mid tibia, mid tarsus, and basal 2/5 of hind tibia bright yellow. Wing membrane hyaline, vein 1-R1, C+SC+R, and border of pterostigma brown, pterostigma, r, 2-SR and 2-M light brown, other alar veins more or less colourless.

Male. Unknown.

Host. Unknown.

Material examined ( ZJUH). Holotype: ♀, Chengdu, Sichuan, 1980.VIII.5, He Junhua, No. 802822.

Distribution. Oriental [China: Sichuan].

Etymology. The specific name “ longimagna ” derived from the Latin “longus” and “magnus”, referring to it is unusually large with very long ovipositor sheath.

Remarks. This species is similar to D. allofulvigaster Long, but differs in the following: vein r of fore wing 1.5× longer than 2-SR (the latter as long as); areolation without median carina basally (the latter with); and metasoma and legs mostly black to brown (the latter reddish yellow).
