Type species: Apalochrus fedtschenkoi Solsky, 1882 .

Differential diagnosis. The species of the nominative subgenus differ from their congeners by the following characters: body parallel, at least very slightly widened posteriorly, pronotum longitudinal, elongate, distinctly narrowed at base just behind the middle, 3rd antennal segment shorter or the same length as the 1st antennomere.
