Etymology.
The name ( brevicornis) refers to the short antennal scape that distinguishes this species from other taxa treated in this revisionary work.

Distribution.
This species is known to occur in the southwestern part of Madagascar from 30-770 m (Fig. 13). The known samples are collected from sifted litter (leaf mold, rotten wood) in tropical dry forest.
