First description of male. The species M. marmorata is distinctly differentiated from other species in the species group “a” by comparatively few file teeth and comparatively large tooth density (see measurements in Tables 5–6). The calling song consists of continuous syllable-groups. Each syllable-group, with a regular period and duration (67.5ms), consists of 5 syllables with gradually decreasing amplitude (Fig. 1 s–t). The species is recorded to be distributed in South China (only including Yunnan).
