Langheransia garciai: Campoy, 1982: 386 –389, pls. 36–38.
Typosyllis garciai: Licher, 1999: 74 –75.
Syllis garciai: San Martín, 1984: 364, Fig. 92; San Martín, 1992: 180 –181, Fig. 5 a–d; Capa et al., 2001: 111; San Martín, 2003: 400–405, Figs 219–221; Çinar & Ergen, 2003: 782 –783; Aguado & San Martín, 2007: 216.
Material examined. 1 specimen (CPICML PO-37-049), Caleta E1B2, 16°49.797’N, 99°54.062’W, 25 May 2006, 12 m, coarse sand.
Comparative material examined. Syllis garciai: 1 specimen (MNCN 16.01/6999). SPAIN: Mediterranean Sea, Roquetas del Mar, Almeria, 3 m.
Remarks. The morphology of this specimen agrees well with the original description of the species and with that of the Mediterranean specimen, which has slightly longer tentacular and dorsal cirri. With this new record, the distribution of the species is extended to the north in the Tropical Eastern Pacific and constitutes the first record in the Mexican Pacific, which may mean that it is a widespread amphi-American species (Fauchald, 1977).
Habitat. Algae, seaweeds, vermetid reefs, sediments (from coarse sand to mud), calcareous concretions (San Martín, 2003).
Distribution. Eastern Atlantic (from Galicia to Cape Green), Mediterranean Sea, Caribbean Sea (Cuba and Venezuela), Pacific coasts of Panama and southern Mexican Pacific.
