Distribution. Colombia (Caquetá) (New record), Costa Rica (Guanacaste) (Fig. 7).
Remarks. We have examined three specimens of this species and all differs from the male holotype of S. maculipennis by the brown palpus (yellow in S. maculipennis), It 3 white (dark in S. maculipennis) and posterior membrane of wing apparently mostly reduced, forming a more conspicuous petiole than in S. maculipennis (see Bickel 2015, fig. 1e). However, the male terminalia (Fig. 5F) is virtually identical and we have chosen to keep these specimens identified as S. maculipennis .
