Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (São Paulo) (Melo & Campos Jr. 1994; Melo 1996).

Remarks. Previous records on the coast of São Paulo (Santos) included only the type series material collected in the stomach content of the fish Diplectrum formosum (Holotype male MZUSP 10932 and paratype male MZUSP 11106) (Melo & Campos Jr. 1994).
