Holotype [by monotypy]: ZMB 32735/32736 (= A 48,09,92), female, adult, skull, skin [skin could not be found in the collection]; near Kabambare, Democratic Republic of the Congo; collected by Grauer, October 1908.

Comment: Matschie described this species using a single specimen (A 48,09,92) and does not mention any other specimen, making it the holotype by monotypy.
