Current valid name: Galago moholi Smith, 1836

Syntypes: ZMB 325, female, skull, skin, skeleton in alcohol (= An 14943); ZMB 1242, male, adult, in alcohol; Tette, Mossambique [Tete, Mozambique]; collected by Peters between 1843 and 1847 .

Comment: Peters (1852, p. 11), originally classified this species as Otolicnus senegalensis Geoffroy and revised this view in 1876. In Mozambique, as can be seen from the 1852 publication, more than 2 specimens were collected. The whereabouts of further specimens is unknown.
