Syntype: ZMB 3191, male, skull, skin; Borba, Rio Madeira, Amazonas, Brazil; collected by Natterer 1830, received from Museum Wien .

Comment: Further four syntypes are located in the Naturhistorisches Museum Wien (NMW B 3456, B 3455, B3457, ST 970), one syntype in the Natural History Museum London (BMNH 1870.3.10.3), and one syntype in the Naturalis Biodiversity Center Leiden (RMNH.MAM.39099).
