Holotype: ZMB 35504, female, skull, skin; “Suksuk-Fluss” [ Awash river between Lake Ziway and Abijata Lake], Ethiopia; collected by O. Neumann on 27 November 1900.

Paratypes: ZMB 88754, skull, skin; ZMB 88755, skull, skin; ZMB 88756, skull; specimens from “Suksuk-Fluss” [ Awash river between Lake Ziway and Abijata Lake] and “Maki-Fluss” [ Maquii or Meki river] at “Zuai-See” [Lake Ziway = Hora Dambal], Ethiopia; collected by O. Neumann, 1900 .
