Current valid name: Piliocolobus tephrosceles (Elliot, 1907)

Holotype: ZMB 32784 (= A 18.10.1), male, adult, skin; “zwischen Ussuwi und Ihangiro” [between Ussuw country = Rusubi / Busubi and Muleba at Victoria Lake, Tanzania; collected by Gudowius, Winter 1908/1909.

Comment: A further specimen, ZMB 33630, male, juvenil, incomplete skin, from Russissi [= Ruzizi River, border between Rwanda and Democratic Republic of the Congo], has been signed in the General catalog with a type asterisk; however, Matschie (1914) did not mention this specimen in the description, so it cannot be classified as a paratype.
